Honestly, is it even necessary to say anything about Queen? It’s common knowledge that this band led by the fearless and forever fabulous Freddie Mercury is one of the best bands ever. This playlist is just a compilation of my favorite songs of theirs. I can’t count the number of times I’ve sung along to Bohemian Rhapsody, looking crazy. And Don’t Stop Me Now is on my playlist of feel-good songs. It never fails to pump me up. Makes me wish I had a baton.

Water and a Flame - Daniel Merriweather Feat. Adele, from the album Love & War

Download HERE

Adele is a vocal goddess, hands down, so don’t try to argue with that fact. Her voice is so beautiful it really must be hard to sing a song with her and not sound like shit. Daniel Merriweather somehow managed to sing a duet with Adele and sound as beautiful as her. This suet is just perfect in so many ways. Mostly because both of them have such soulful voices. Everyone knows Adele, but if you don’t know about Daniel Merriweather I suggest you check him out if you’re looking for the male version of Adele, because thats exactly what he is.

Chamberlin by Lizbeth on Grooveshark

Beautiful folksy tinged music that’s like medicine for the soul. The singer’s voice is full of so much emotion, it’s mesmerizing. Chamberlin is a relatively new band, they have one album and on EP, but both are definitely worth a listen.

Their sound is a mix of Bon Iver, Arcade Fire and maybe some Blaze Foley for the country touch.

The Joy Formidable - Whirring, from the album A Balloon Called Moaning

Download HERE

This one of those songs that I had on my ipod for no particular reason. I would always skip it when it would come on and I could only leave it on if I was too lazy to change the song. However, slowly but surely it began to grow on me. I started to sway along to it and now I’m so hooked. Definitely one of my current faves. The mellow vibe of the song makes it perfect for everything. Personally, I prefer to listen to it while driving to work. There’s a certain juxtaposition to the sound of the song however. The singers voice is sweet and light which pops out brightly against the fuzzy riffs and dominating drums.

Michael Jackson - Baby Be Mine, from the Thriller album.

Download HERE

Love MJ, like there is no tomorrow! Thriller of course is a huge deal in music history, everyone knows Thriller and Beat It and Billie Jean and basically every other song on the album. There is one song thought that I think just doesn’t get the love it deserves. It’s Baby Be Mine, which in my opinion is the hidden gem of the album. It’s a simple, yet effective love song. It seems there wasn’t much production time put into this song, MJ’s voice is the main point which is what I love. You aren’t bombarded by all these different layers of sounds and whatnot.

This is your time Baby Be Mine, so shine  on!
